Corpus Christi Primary School

Mental Health & Wellbeing

Curriculum Intent

At Corpus Christi we are leading the way in promoting awareness of mental health and wellbeing in children and adults. Mental health, like physical health is something that we all have and need to take care of. As a school we are committed to supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of all our staff and pupils. Our aim is for all pupils in school to develop the self-esteem, resilience and emotional understanding to be able to play an active part in school life, becoming effective and successful learners and friends at Corpus Christi and in their future lives. Our intention is to promote positive emotional health and mental wellbeing across the whole school community, as well as every  staff member.  In addition to promoting positive mental health, we aim to recognise and respond to mental ill health, as well as increasing understanding and awareness of common mental health issues.

Each half term we dedicate a Wednesday, known as Well-being Wednesday, to promoting healthier lifestyles, mindfulness and a reminder to all staff and children to care for themselves. We promote the importance of positivity, well-being and mental health.

Look at our photo gallery below to get a flavour of some of the activities both children and staff have engaged in over the last year.
