Spellings
We give out weekly spellings in Year 1. Our spellings are focused on the phonemes we have been learning that week. We then do our spelling test the following Friday.
In Starling Class we are using the phonics scheme 'Little Wandle' the revised Letters and Sounds.
Homework
Each week maths homework will be sent home, this will link with the learning the children are doing in class. Homework is then due in the following Wednesday. Your child will also change their books once a week and it would be helpful if you read with your child and sign their reading record.
